1. What are the most popular properties in Greece now?
Different parts of Greece have different things to offer to tourist and home buyers. You may wan to look into buying in this region, although it is slightly more expensive than the less developed areas.
3. Are foreigners welcome in Greece?
Yes! The Greeks are very friendly people and are used to dealing with foreigners. Many of them speak English. And the growing number of expatriates and retirees who buy homes in this country also means you will always bump into someone from your homeland.
4. Do I have to have my finance in place before my inspection visit?
It’s always better to have your loan pre approved as you avoid delays and you are always certain about how much money you have available for the house.
5. I can’t be in Greece for long periods of time, and I don’t have time to personally handle the documents and contracts needed to close the sale. What do I do?
You can ask y your lawyer can represent you. He can handle getting your tax number, called AFM, and check things like title deeds. He can also handle working with the Public Notary. You can also ask him to write a power of attorney which grants him limited authority (based on your specifications) to act on your behalf for certain transactions.
